Title: Any website experts here ?

My new (ish) website ( a few months old) has been getting a couple of dozen visits a day. But today it has logged 9150 so far !!!!!

I am assuming these are not genuine visitors ---- what could be doing this ( apart from a glitch with the counter) ?

Has somebody hacked into it and placed "interesting" comment onto your site or simply hijacked it? :( :(

I would check all the way through the site!

Assuming counter OK - a screwed up web crawler, and knackered anonymous proxy (NTL have this a lot), or that Russian search engine that hammers OOF every night!

Most likely a problem with the counter - what are weblogs suggesting?

Funnily enough we had a couple of orders from Russia a few days ago -- we have been discovered by the commies !!!!!!
