Some years ago a guy got jailed for doing 150mph on the M4
More recently another got jailed for doing 80 in a 30
Why was this guy not Jailed ?
Convicted of 144 but estimated maximum was 165 on M62
Blatantly told court that he intended to continue driving during a 3 year ban
Mocked the fine by stating that he was only £10 short of the cash to pay immediately
This guys arrogance and attitude is a serious risk to the public.
Also, how was a 24 yr old allowed to hire such a car ?
Also, how could he afford it if he is unemployed ?
So many questions . . . . .

By the sounds of it he needs locking up, also I wonder what benefits he's receiving for being out of work... makes me want to move somewhere where that type of person would receive a public beating for that.
It says in the article... "Prison sentences cannot be imposed for an offence of speeding"
Perhaps if speeding is the only offence, maybe you need to also have no insurance etc to go to prison.

True, but the high speed itself can be regarded by the officer as being reckless, which can change the charge to reckless driving or similar. This was double the national speed limit. Given the speeds involved and the other issues, I would have expected to see a custodial sentence.

They should have seized and crushed the car! >:(

I don't think it belongs to the scally, Tig. I believe it's a hire car.
I'll look after it, rather than it going to the crusher. ::) ::) :y

This whole sorry episode you could well have been 'Young STMO' from forty years ago.
Way back then he'd have tried to outrun the police chopper in an Austin 1100. ;)

Driving at that speed on Uk roads could well be considered dangerous as well as reckless. Sould have been put away for that, as well as for contempt of court ???

Trouble is he will kill someone eventually, saw him on our local news last night , typical drug dealer looking type ,sorry if that offends anyone but that's my opinion..

I may well have done it successfully, you'll never know and they'll never know. :P
