Well summer holidays are here and already the kids are up to mischief ::) Now i dont mind them having a laugh and whatever but there are 3-4 that are getting lippy >:( Ive caught them twice now down the drive up to something around the car and told them politely to leave . I got a response from one of them to shut the F up >:( and he's only about 8 or 9 !
Problem is we all keep ourselves to ourselves around here and this particular kid is from foreign family .. whats the best plan of action if it keeps happening :-\ :-\
Just to add ive found scratches on the car and the car never leaves me while im out in it but cant prove it was them :-\

Many people do not, but if the police, and especially the local CSPO's, can get involved they will (hopefully) persuade these very young people by "friendly chats" not to cause a nuisance. They can also help these youngsters to keep safe, as I have had to locally when dealing with garage roof runners, and stone throwing fads. We were all kids once, but it is important to stop these kids in their tracks before they go a lot further as they grow up. :y

Speak to the parents if you can
-
Funny you should mention the stone throwing as one afternoon there were quite a few stone being thrown when my parents were here and from the direction of the nuisance 4 again in the street >:( Thing is if they hurt themselves on my property ill be the one they will claim off , caught them walking the front wall once .. they just dont care and neither do the parents :(

Get your Local Councillor involved

Get your Local Councillor involved
Ill give them the benefit if the doubt , if they do start coming up the drive again ill ring the police and inform the councilor and tell them the car has been scratched ;)

Lock him in your house with you on the outside and then phone the Police to say that you returned from work and disturbed a burglar, so can they get there quickly as he's still inside. ;)
Damage a neighbours house/car and tell them that you saw him do it. ;)
If his parents are approachable, tell them that, for his own safety, you will phone them every time he enters your garden and then phone them a ridiculous amount of times so that they get fed up with it. ;)
So basically, frame him. :y ;D ;D
The above is tongue in cheek by the way, before the PC brigade start picking on me. ;) ;D
-
Il do an estimate for the scratches to be repaired, maybe when you give that to the brats parents it might shock them into keeping the brat under control
-
Now where's my drain acid :D
-
Close the driveway gates or lock them, presuming you have gates :-\

Speak to the parents.
If they don't intervene, speak to them again. And again, and again. Politetly of course.

Not a single suggestion to engage the kids in a worthwhile activity. Shame on you. Kite flying , boules competition, Velcro darts, snail racing , knot tying etc etc. They just need a role model. Emd - you could be just the thing to help them on the right path in life. We were all horrible little kids once yet mostly became alright. Why was that? Threat of a thick ear from plod (in the days when they could give you a thick ear) Parents? Neighbours? Has it all gone to pot or is there a big society out there? These kids will be running the country while you are pensioners......................
Footnote.
When we were kids a parent bought us a mile of light fishing line and a decent kite. We managed to fly that kite and bring it home a few times. The rest of the times involved a lot of walking!

Ive managed to find an old motorbike disc lock in the shed and just locked the front gates :y Will see what they do now . Many times we have come back and caught them down the drive , and they run off , the parents are not approachable either so any more hassle and the police will be called :y
-
Do what my father-in-law did. Get utterly wasted on Johnny walker and then stagger out threatening them with a shotgun in one hand and a handful of cartridges in the other. :y
Actually, don't. It didn't work out too well for him. ::)

I had the same problem with some "unnapproachable" parents of a kid who was bullying my son.
I gatecrashed a bbq with four of my powerlifter/jiu jitsu club friends.
Funnily enough, the problem was sorted.

How about what they do at some shopping places that have problem kids. Play classical music outside, not to loud to annoy neighbours but loud enough so they can hear it in your driveway.
Something about classical music a lot of young people stay away from it. Come to think of it at the age of 48 I would stay away from anyone playing classical music.

Just a thought, Something like this now an then say may help or even set up a infrared trip wire to set it off, Proper James Bond stuff :D ;D ;D

There's long videos on YouTube you could play or apps on mobile devices to try, There probably is a way to hook some kind of system outdoors in a concealed area waterproof etc.. Although a licence is required to run something like this I'd imagine, Causes headaches after long exposure apparently... Which wouldn't go down too well with the rest of the people around :-X

Aye and i dont think the cats and dogs would be very quiet either ::) ;D ;)
