Title: Failed mot yesterday
Post by: al brown on 03 August 2013, 15:08:51
As per the title, after being off the road for a year I am now home for long enough to get her back on the road. Jobs I have done in the last few weeks,
rear subframe bushes,
drop links,
new rear brake pipe,
rear shocks,
battery bracket fitted,
2 front tyres,
both rear sills welded,
both rear wheel arches welded and painted,
side trims re-secured,
rear spoiler removed LED's replaced bootlid welded and spoiler refitted,
rear seam under the bumper completely replaced/welded,
gearbox fluid changed,
Brakes cleaned up,
oil and filters.

Failed mot on offside hand brake and exhaust rubbers missing (I took them off when I was welding as they were perished and forgot to put new ones on!).
All in all quite happy, back Monday for retest. Then my mig is back on the road and I can stop driving her focus.

Ha, yeah badly written post, fixed it before i took her in. She has been picking up advisories for the last couple of years but I have been away to much the last couple of years to sort them. This last year of being stood up has really let the rust take hold but have sorted that now, advisories are now just for front brake ferrule corrosion and a bit of brake peddle travel.

Lot of work for a car worth £400, but I have had her 10 years and there is nothing to equal her as we do often use ALL of the boot space. Keep getting told to scrap her but that isn't going to happen.

If you need some exhaust rubbers quickly, I might have a few in the junk box. :y

Cheers Kevin, got some yesterday from dealer when I went to order some other bits I need to make her pretty. Couldn't believe no where else stocks them any more.
