hi, car wont start clip codes says 37 is this a censor or something else
aiden

What engine and year? Assume 2 digit code its a non-dbw.
Code 37 - not listed.
common reason for non starting V6s is failed crank sensor (usually 19, but sometimes doesn't throw a code). Sure code not 31?
-
hi , 2.5 1998, trying clip test again , aiden
-
hi , it could be code 73, the car turns over but not firing, censor? aiden
-
Whip the petrol pipe feed off (Drivers side of Engine), on the FL it wont piss petrol out whilst cranking if the Sensor has gone, fairly sure yours will be the same.
-
73 is MAF, but given symptoms, crank sensor as said (code 19)
-
73 is MAF (mass airflow voltage low) try unplugging the MAF sensor and see if car will start. MAF is more likely to cause it to run rough than not start afaik. Cause of non running is often duff crank sensor which wont always show a code.Try unplugging MAF first though and see what happens.

hi, its code 73 strong smell petrol after turning over, thinks the maf is ok, must be crank censor, aiden
-
Un plug the MAF and then see if it will run.
-
hi, disconected maf and it started reconected and still running, do i need to get a new maf or will it be ok ,
thanks for your help

Sounds like the MAF is on the way out.Best to replace it imo. I believe they are pretty expensive from VX. Might be worth posting a wanted ad,or contact someone who is breaking a suitable car. I don't have one myself, but someone else might. :y

3.0 MAF should be the same http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=116235.0

I just replaced my MAF with a new non OEM direct from China, total cost $70nz (about 30uk pound inc freight). I know everyone here will moan! but for the price its worth a try! PS mines working fine
