Hi all
I am in desperate need of a tech 2 machine for an hour.
I have an Astra diesel here (Z19DTH) that won't start, got some codes (pedal test) but I need Tech2 to look at live data/to go into more details on the codes I have.
I am due to go away Thursday, local vauxhall can't look at it until late next week at the earliest and the garages I've spoken to locally don't have tech2 and direct me to Vauxhall :( :( :( :(
So I'm asking if there is anyone out there who'll be able to come up to me in Braintree with Tech 2.(obviously I'll pay!)
Thanks to anyone who can help/point me in a direction...

Our members near you would be either TheBoy (Brackey, Northants) or MarksDTM (Nottingham)
However I know TB is unlikely to be in a position to travel that far, with everything going on in his world at the moment. DTM also appears super busy at the moment, I think your best option would be taking it to a dealer :'(

Maybe Kevin Wood could assist (another member with tech2) but its a very long way :(

Live data will be unhelpful at best seeing as the car won't even start.
Post the codes you have and let's have a think. :y

Cheers Tunnie. I know its a lot to ask.
I've called the dealer at the end of my road and asked for just a plug in and a printed result type appointment but they have said no. Told me to book it in next Thursday :( :(
It is a really involved process to pull off live data?
Cheers

As Broomies Mate says above,live data assumes engine is running so what are the fault codes coming up ???

I'll list the codes;
P0190 - Fuel Pressure circuit malfunction
P0870 - Fuel rail / system pressure too low
P5000 - Vehicle Speed Signal not plausible (probably because engines not running?)
P0700 - transmition (??)
P0090 - Rail pressure voltage high
All the above need live data, ie cranking to see what the pressures are in the rail when being cranked from what I've read.
Anyone have any ideas?
What I've done so far;
-Checked fuel filter is clean and clear (only 3 months old anyway)
-Cleaned boost pressure sensor (been told this can cause the above codes??)
-Cleaned out EGR (only 3 months old and was pretty clean, again told this can cause random fueling codes)

Looks like it could be the fuel rail sensor BUT without checking the fuel pumps are running to the correct pressures I can't proove it. But if the sensor detects the pressure is not correct it'll shut the high pressure pump down...! So can't tell whats going on :(

Hi all
Just thought I'd update the thread/conclude it.
Had a mobile mechanic pop round with his tech2 machine, bolted to the floor of his van. Plugged in and cranked it over, instantly said ''0 bar in the fuel rail''.
So checked the high presssure pumps bleed 'ball' while cranking - no pressure there. lifted back seats to access the lift pump. While cranking the pump was kicking in and out so that was the problem. Removed the pump and checked the wiring with a meter, turns out the earth was broken between the plug and the pump, gave it a wiggle and got continuity on and off.
I replaced the section of earth cable from the plug to the lift pump and it started after 2 cranks!
Happy days. (until the next time!!)
Cheers
Rob
