Can anybody tell me the location of fuel filter for a 1.4 02 Honda civic.
Thankyou .
-
If it`s a D14Z4 or D14Z2 engine, filter is under the bonnet.
-
according to this (and the Haynes) its on top of the fuel pump martin...

IIRC that`s for the D14Z5/6 engine Steve. :-\ Not sure what the OP has
-
ok fair enough rob :)
I suppose if martin don't find it in the engine bay then that's where it'll be then ;D

I'm way past that stage,I shall let you know in the morning where it is,next major job on this car in a couple of months is cambelt and renew all the brakes.
-
Let me know when that is Martin if you want help and company.... really need to be getting myself familiar with timing belt jobs :y :y :y
-
Webby, might be worth you picking up 2nd hand Haynes manuals, cheap, plenty of reading time and will help when servicing other cars.
-
yeah I've got a few now mate. tbh when it comes to servicing (fluids, filters, plugs, brakes etc) I now don't need any help. very confident with just cracking on (apart from those ford brake shoes... but at least I wont make that mistake again ;D).
but as said timing belts I need lots more real world experience. I did timing belt on ralf but that was aided by mark dtm's cambelt dvd. and ive done a few on engines that are on stands but I want the buzz of doing them and getting to turn the engine on and seeing if I make anything explode witnessing the fruits of my labour ;D ;D ;D ;D
next course starting in sept covers lots of timing belt replacements too so looking forward to that.

obviously your fingers were where they shouldn't have been. ::) ::)
Capri/Cortina gearboxes were p*** easy to lift into place ......... or was that because I was much younger & stronger? ??? ;D ;D

Yes...... :y :( :( Changed a few, but remember taking out a Transit gearbox on my own on my drive, Escort clutch the same, things were so much simpler when we were younger and stronger............. :( ;) :( ;)
-
That's because most cars were rwd tho.
-
And the location of the filter is not in the engine bay, after taking car for a test drive, the service has improved the engine,no more hesitation and holding back on power, see how that goes for her lol
-
fair enough. but if you wanted to do it I found a pic showing that the fuel pump is i think under rear seats and totally accessable.
of course if its not you didn't read this message ;D ;D ;D
-
That filter is £35 and she don't have money to change that yet

:o :o :o
Is that a genuine one martin ? :-\
-
It's a Honda! Lol so no it's pure 100% pattern
-
:o No wonder they dont get changed that much at that price :(
-
£35. WOW! :o :o :o
I read that the ones that are in the fuel tank/on top of the fuel pump are generally not supposed to be serviced. i.e. sealed for life unless theres a problem... is that perhaps why its so expemsive :-\
