Title: Tie Rod Hits Wheel
Post by: JayMV6 on 17 August 2013, 11:38:47
Morning Folks. Put new shocks and wishbones on my car and used a whole steering bar from another omega including track rods (Was much better condition then mine and free). Took it to get 4 wheel aligned and afterwards noticed on full right hand lock the wheel rubs on the track rod. He did have to heat the drivers side up to adjust it. So my first thoughts are Hes bent it slightly after having to use force. New one is ordered and just waiting to go pick it up to fit it but was wondering if theres anything else that could be the cause? or if anyone else has had this problem?

You sure that it's the correct tie-rod? :-\

Each one is cranked forwards, and are 'side-specific'  ;)

yeh i know this is 100% as they gave me the wrong side hence why im waiting for the part. Do they get quite close to the wheel normally? I do have 18's on but it didnt do it before with my original set up and only does it on the right hand full lock.

Don't forget you now need it set up again ;) Although if you managed to change the track rod without disconnecting anything else (which you should have done) then just tracking will suffice  :y
