Hi, I have been on holiday all week, had the car out twice...Today I went down to car started it up, 1/2 tank of petrol, checked tyres etc. left it running while I did a few things, changed the door protectors, engine started making funny noises, like it was going to cut out, jumped in and revved the car, noticed the fuel gauge was reading EMPTY!!!...Then it cut out, and looks like the battery is flat!!!...any help would be appreciated as I go back to work tomorrow at 7:30am...
Cheers

Not an expert at all but . . to try & help . . have you got access to an electrical meter where you see what voltage is in the battery now ? set the meter dial to 20 volts DC
If low or flat , can you try & charge the battery for a couple of hours . Then try starting again . . . if it starts & repeats this cutting out . . . possibly a duff battery .
If battery is showing a good charge on the meter at the outset . . check all battery connections for tightness .
If you have a meter . . set it to 20 volts DC before touching anything . If car starts you should get a reading of around 14 volts at the battery with the engine running .
If lower . . .probably charging/ alternator problem .
As said not an expert . . but this may help a bit :y
