Just tried again and had no problems.

Just need the seller to change his advert as it states in his descrption and i'm a happy bunny  ;D

Tbh, i'm getting a little worried now because the bidding starting to go crazy.

Can he revoke the "buy it now" offer if he thinks he can make more by letting the auction run for a few more days ?

Once it's got bids on it I don't think he can change it - but if the bid goes over the BIN amount then the BIN will disappear..

A number of high profile sites have been hit on subsequent days including B and Q, eBay, Amazon, LSE, etc.

They all quote 'Essential Maintenance' which in the middle of the day is another way of saying 'Things are f-ed up right now and we don't know what is going on'.  Maintenance is done during the quiet periods and only then with redundancy built-in so services are not affected.

In all likelihood a new group or bot is on the market and flexing it's muscles, touting for work, I will keep an eye on the Security bulletins for more info :y

I also had problems earlier, seems ok now.  Thought it was odd at the time.

If it was that then eBay appeared to know about it in advance:

Scheduled maintenance for this week

The eBay system will be undergoing general maintenance from approximately 7am to 9am on Friday, August 23rd. During this maintenance period, certain eBay site features may be intermittently unavailable or slow and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.

More wierd happenings in ebay land  ???

If I go to the  "watching" section of My Ebay and click on the item, I get this message .................

This listing (360******608) has been removed, or this item is not available

If I do a complete new search for the item, it comes up with no problem   :(

Their site is still playing funny buggers as I type, it's a bloody nuisance when you're bidding on an item about to end :(

Maybe with all the crap going on, he gave it up as a bad job this morning  :-\

Fingers crossed for tomorrow  :-\

If not, i'll end up bidding with everybody else and see what happens.

Thanks folks  :)
