Are you certain it's the solenoid? It was the brake pedal switch when I had the same problem (there are two contacts in there - a normally open & a normally closed) so it could still be the switch even when the brake lights work.  :y :y

				I'll second that.
I have a spare solenoid which you can have, but please make sure that it's faulty first. And by that I mean check with an electrical meter that the solenoid is receiving an "open" signal and not using it.
By doing the above check ( which I suspect will reveal no "open" signal ), you will be halfway to the cause.
