Hi folk,
 and this is not a question for help or anything.
I have had a good look at this part of the forum, and apart from the "extra length" some members go to, as far as  offering useful help and advice from "knowing", and help us mere omega owners, WHY, ( and got my broly up for the  falling flak lol) is there so many problems with the Omega, is it car age related, with inherent faults now?
And I have my little issues with mine exhaust, tyre wear and had to replace the crank sensor
Great car tho, powerful, if heavy on the juice compared to new engines today, as someone pointed out (jag v8????)

Personally I think it is age related - coupled with high mileage and maybe questionable servicing in the past.

I have had two omegas from new, both V6s and company cars, each covering around 120K before changing, both regularly serviced.  Never had a major issue with either of these.

1) Age - 2004 is the newest one you can get, not many of those, mostly 2003, so at best 10 years old
2) Miles - Given type of car they are, they quickly clocked up miles, ours are all quite high, 165k, 141k, 130k & 110k

But, this is a very active forum, so might give false sense of issues.

Personally, my main drive the 2.2 LPG, has not missed a beat, never let me down, basic DIY work its been fanastic. 165k going strong, took it to Austria and back in the Winter in -18 conditions, just kept on going.  :y

I am glad to here many are regularly serviced properly. I myself am not able to do this, as I am a complete numpty, and rely, like so many others, on trusting a garage, or main dealer (which the previous owner of my own vehicle has done), and in December,  will find out at MOT time, how well its been looked after lol. As a side note, I hovered it out today, and looked in the boot compartment, and found a GM scuff removal set, and a coach lining brush, so things looked up :)
And having a Norwegian Elk Hound in the back with a proper cover on seats, makes hair removal a right pain  >:(

Had my old PFL 2.0 CD for over six years, millage was 160k when i got rid of it and was totally reliable.
If you can,t work on it yourself, find an independent repairer you can trust and leave it to him.
Also , regular servicing is a must.

As the case with many forums, members post when the have a problem they want advise/help with. They don't post when they don't need help or advise  :y
