Somebody at work checked my tax, said it will be £200 in 2010 no doubt plus bedgetary increases. I feel for those whose cars fall under the new emissios rule.
Personally I think they should either charge us for the tax disc & abolish fuel duty or the other way round.
We are being hit twice.
Pay to drive a car of your choice then pay more tax on fuel as it usues more. Now thats what I call another method of road pricing & they are still toying with that too so it shall be a triple whammy!!
Good on yer Gordon  >:(

Opps just adding that I signed it  ;D

im always a bit sceptical about petitions. having 50,000 peoples opinion in one document which can be responded to in one exercise doesnt have quite the same effect as 50,000 people writing a letter saying the same thing and requesting a response so that 50,000 responses have to be drafted...

maybe we should draft a letter as a template which we could all print out and sign and post? whatdya reckon?  :-/

Do you think the letter would be any different to an e-petition, as in notice taken. Taking into account the amount of members we have & how many have responded to this thread. Even if we all wrote a letter, it would only be just over 3000 & i don't think it's enough. The e-petition way means that all of the UK could possibly sign  ::)

Writing to your MP is probably the only other option that might make some difference. Especially if you happen to live in a marginal labour constituency, I'm sure they're fairly sensitive to what will win them votes at the moment. [smiley=evil.gif]

these ePetitions make no difference.

Write to your local MP.

But still i doubt it will have any effect, this is Labour we are talking about, who don't listen to a damn word we say.

I think that Tunnie is right, and that it will make no difference.....but I have signed anyway.

I may well try the letter to my local mp too as I believe that retrospective tax increases are grossly unfair  >:(
