Hi all
May need an ECU for my '51 3.2 Elite
Anyone got one for sale? Or is more info required?
Many thanks
-
Yes,I have one for sale. What makes you think you need one though ? They very rarely go wrong. ;)
-
Hi mate
We've exhausted every other option, it's still sticking in limp & not reving past 2.5k
How much do you want for it?
-
Actually Adrian. As your not that far from me,you can borrow mine for elimination purposes if it helps. :y
-
You are a legend
My man has one more idea apparently, if not I'll shout tomorrow
Thank you mate
-
I would try to get the car on a diagnostics, eg(tech2) and see what the fault is, never seen an ecu go wrong.
-
I've even had a guy from VX, who normally fixes stuff dealers can't have a look, he plugged allsorts into it and no luck!
-
Toledodude had one go wrong on his 2.6 recently. He diagnosed it by borrowing mine.Im pretty sure that was the first one I had heard of though.
-
Be about average for my luck!
-
Well,if it does turn out to be that its not a huge problem. You will have a replacement for a very reasonable price. ;) :D

Adrian collected my ecu etc from me at the weekend to try and help diagnose his problem. I had a text from him last night to say that swapping the ecu has solved the problem completely.
That's the second 2.6/3.2 ecu an OOFer has had a problem with (to my knowledge) in the last couple of months, which is interesting.
I have always thought them to be ultra reliable, but maybe they are now getting old enough to be the cause of problems more regularily ?
-
As this is in the "for sale" section, soon as I get a mo I'm gonna list the faults & diagnostic path to conclusion in the electrical bit, with a reference to the other one you linked me to....may make useful reading for others in the future
Thanks again mate

Good idea. :y Glad its sorted mate. :y :y

Out of interest are they one in the same ?

Nope, 1 is mine, the other I can't remember
Same ECU for testing though.....now installed. ;-)

Afaik 2.6 ecu isn't quite the same as the 3.2. A 2.6 will run with 3.2 ecu (and vice versa) but not very well as the parameters for fuelling etc. will be miles out. Could be reprogrammed I suppose, but that might cost as much or more than a known good replacement.

well done Albs your single handedly keeping Migs alive ,i'm kind of glad another ECU was at fault,my has run superly since replacement
