Title: Change of car
Post by: ZacVegas on 12 September 2013, 15:49:47
I'm going to look at an S Type Jag tomorrow as a replacement for my miggy, it's the same age as what I've got now. No doubt I'll get slaughtered by you people out there. ;D

It's a 3ltr se auto, cheers for the heads up, apparently the gearboxes can be a problem too so I'll make sure to have a good look over it and a proper test drive :y

Same age as Omega? Can't see that being a good move really, at least here any fault is easily diagnosed, might end up with faults with no experts around with S-Type

I've had my omega just over 3yrs now and I fancy a change. I've always liked the S type so I'm taking the plunge, only time will tell if it's a mistake ???

If its what you fancy, go for it. Life is too short for regrets.

Just be aware that OOF members make other car forums look poor :y

Ageed - I'm on a couple of Jag forums - a bit snobbish and far less good tech assistance than OOF.  Suprising really as generally 100+ on the X350 section every night ???

Always liked the look of the S Type unitl I saw how much rear leg room there was  :o  Certainly less leg room than a mk5 Astra.

OK for two people I suppose  :-\

Corrected that for you, they always were and still are by all accounts

Major issues already covered e.g. rust on sills adn floor pans, can be pretty bad to.

Auto boxes not the best and when driving it listen for knocks and bangs from front and rear suspension components.

Make sure all the electrics work as there a bit 'Leyland' esq

The Tetley Tea makers quickly made an attack on the reliability stuff, and there were steady improvements from that point one :)
