Post by: Fiona on 13 September 2013, 08:36:38
Hi all

Fiona here, picking up a 2.2 diesel Omega at the weekend, never owned one or a diesel car at that ever in my life before so would be grateful if you could give me some pointers on things I should look out for on this type of car  :)

Cheers Fi

Hi all thanks for the welcomes  :)

Finding it a bit hard to get used to the car, so big and well never driven a diesel before, so much different to a small little nippy Toyota Corolla xli!!

PS do you need to verify each post with the letters thingy???

Thats only for the first few posts you make. I know its a pain, but we have to have such schemes in place to help prove you're human, and not a Viagra/Jewellery/bargain-of-your-life selling robot  :-[

Welcome to the site :y

Mrs TB is a shortarse, and it took her a while to get used to manuovering the Omegas in tight spaces.  You'll get there, I'm sure :).  If you have trouble judging the back of the car, esp if you aren't 6' tall, reversing sensors can be a worthwhile addition.

Diesel power delivery is very different to petrol, and completely reliant on the turbo. Try to get the turbo spinning before overtaking, to avoid the lag of the turbo.

Hahah fair enough!

Yes I have parking sensors and I forgot how nice it was to have them it's been a while since I had a car with them  :y

The first Omega in this thread is mine.
Can't wait to get stuck into cleaning her and get her sparkling  :)
