No adjustment necessary.

Does anyone know where I can get this done in the North West
-
Guess that's good news ;)
As you've used them; they must be OK, I'm thinking of getting mine done & they're not too far away.

There is a place in Oldham apparently, linked from the wheels in motion site.
Only just over an hour away from here.
Need to take the wifes there as soon as I get time.
IF you find another / try it, let me know how you get on.
-
Cheers Jimbob Ive just found it, its one recommneded by wheels in motion :y
-
It would be intersting to hear what Tony thinks but, that doesn't look to hot to me.....
The difference in toe on the front and on the rear is a bit large for my liking.......and as a result its throwing some of the Castor angles out....
-
Just had a look as well, so's the one used by AA 8-)

Not sure Wheels-In-Motion would agree.....
-
If Auto Addict setup doesn't look right has anyone else had theres done that could post up to compare i'm sure there has been one posted up before but I cant find it.
Just a suggestion if only to confirm what you folks are thinking.
-
Maybe not so good then, think I'll wait & hear the views on here.....
-
The troubel is they are setting it to manufacturers specs which are generaly pretty wide....
The biggest worry is that their own kit is telling them that the rear toe is out of manufacturers spec (and its adjustable plus the equipment is telling them its wrong) and hence the rear thrust angle is out (and its telling them this also).
So then Auto Addict, judging by the results I would say your car is pulling to the left slightly......maybe worse when accelerating?
-
I've PM'd Wheels-in-Motion for his opinion.
As you say Mark, you've driven the car, there is a very, very slight pull to the left, almost undiscernable.
The guy who did it said there was no abnormal tyre wear, and if it was his car, he would leave well alone!
The two rear tyres were replaced last week, and the tyre wear was very even on both.
The two fronts have done about 16K, and again no sign of any uneven tyre wear.
I've just driven the car to Devon and back over the weekend and it drove like a dream on the Motorway.
Normally, if there is a pull, you can feel it in your arm after an hour or so of driving, but I felt nothing after 3 hours each way.
-
The silly thing is though that by adjusting the offside rear trailing arm tie he could probabaly of fixed the main cause and got most of it within at least manufacturers tolerance.....

Hmmm yes, I will await W-in-M comments with interest as they are a recommended by his web site, also, someone else on here recently had theirs done at the same place, W-in-M comment was that they had done a good job.
Paid £11.75 for the check.
-
I suspect that Tony may comment on the left and right tow on the front being significantly different and the right rear tow being out of spec being significantly different.
The problem will come under braking and cornering where the KPI is likely to be pretty wrong......note, I am no expert on this and havn't yet finished working through Tonys info and fully understanding this.....
-
So, what do I do? Take it back and insist that they adjust everything?
-
I would await input from Mr Wheels In Motion himself

No adjustment necessary.
Quite obvious the rear toe has issues so this should have been dealt with by the shop... Although i welcome everyone to have a Geometry rather than just tracking.. but what was your reason for the test?
-
sorry to thread hijack, here is my print out from my alignment session!!!

After chatting to them i felt the car needed some serious money spending
They kept going on about everytime they adjusted the front tracking the steering moved 3 degrees without adjustment and how the rear track arms were in the process of siezing up and they were afraid to adjust them.....
Any ideas?

Has this been a slow evolution or an 'all of a sudden event'?..... How well are the tyres wearing, in particular the NSF outside edge.

Open another thread since that Geometry report is not good... and to be polite to the originator of this thread.

Always been there, tyres wearing very evenly, no sign of wear on outside, or inside of tyres.

Despite there are some errors within the Geometry and advice regarding your car non of the positions should allow the symptoms you describe, This is validated by the fact you have no adverse tyre wear... so why the pull?
This link http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=165 explains the most common reason is the tyre itself, and despite the warnings made available by the manufacture tyre shops still fail to read the lines!

Would it help if I swopped the rear to front and vice versa?
I have read your thread and the tyres are fitted correctly.

Since the original fitting lines have worn away then the best method is to move the front wheels with tyres side-to-side then test drive the car.... dismiss worries about directional tyres and so on, this movement is for testing purposes only.... If the car drives straight or drifts right then we know the problem is pneumatic, then by trial there is a need to find the best combination.

Thank you for your advice and interest, I will try what you suggest and report back.
