Title: Funny thing happened to Mrs AA's Astra
Post by: Auto Addict on 17 September 2013, 19:29:31
She started it up this morning, tried reversing out of the drive, no power steering.

I switched it off, checked the belt, still in place, restarted it and everything was fine.

No fault codes, any ideas please?

I know mine was an Astra G, but the power steering pump on it was an electric pump, not a belt driven pump.

Iffy connection on its fuse ......  :-\ :-\ :-\

Although if the aux belt is missing and not driving the alternator the power steering does stop working :-X ::)

When I did breakdown I had an Astra service van and the belt went at about 10am on a really busy Saturday... Didn't get chance to fit the new one until about 8pm!!!
