Title: Can you swap the driver and passenger seat around
Post by: Fiona on 19 September 2013, 21:27:49
Hi

Stupid question.....

the drivers seat is a bit worn on my car and the padding is nowhere near as comfy as the passenger seat, are you able to swap seats around including the seat belt stalks or can the driver side only ever be the driver side and likewise for the passenger seat?

The seats also are heated ones so does this further complicate matters?

And lastly..... the heating does not work on the passenger seat, is this a common fault?

In theory you'd be able to swap the base over, but the backs have airbags in them, so in answer to the question ...... No, you can't.

heated seats do fail, though it's usually the driver's that gets used more that fails first.

Even though you are in Ireland, I'd say just get a new/better seat from a breaker here, cost in delivery maybe an issue though.

As Andy says, the seats have airbags in them, so can't really be swapped over.
