Fortunately, I'm 7 miles away, but its still utter traffic chaos round here, esp when they close the A43 dual carriageway to become a 4 lane 1 way road :-[

I frequently go to the (free) test days. Next lot (next week or week after) are a tenner a pop though...

Strangely we got out a lot quicker than we got in, 2 hours queuing to get parked, 15 mins to get out of the field and on our way. Rumours are that Donnington is in line for the BritishGrand Prix as it has better road links.

That is strange .. as the Renault meet has moved from Donnington as, rumour has it, it was deemed "too small" ... if it's "too small" for that meet... then an F1 meet ???
Don't see it somehow .. :(

Silverstone now has some of best links in country - Dual carriagewau from M1 and from M40. FIA constantly saying Silverstone will lose it is just a bid to get more money from the tracks...

It was in an article I read last week, as I said it was a rumour, these things are usually made up by journalists with nothing better to write about. Still, stranger things have happened.

It's pretty poor value for money as far as motorsport is concerned IMHO. Compare it to Le Mans - well, there's no comparison. 60 quid ish for 2 qualifying sessions, some historic stuff and 24 hours watching the tottie racing.
The traffic's even not that bad, although I did queue for 1 1/2 hours in the Westfield when it was 34 in the shade one year. Boy, was I glad to get back to the swimming pool at the camp site that year.
