Evening all
I'm looking at buying 2 cheap tablets for my kids for Christmas this year. Both Swmbo and I are fed up with never seeing our iPhone and Kindle. They are 6 & 7 yrs old.
Now there's no point in buying anything like an iPad or nexus etc as they just won't appreciate it (plus they are WAY out of our price range).
We are looking at the bargain basement end of the market. I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience of any of he following tabs.
Carphone Warehouse one for £49

Amazon one for circa £40

I know these are generic Chinese tabs and far are from the last word in cutting edge technology but please understand my kids just want to play games on them.
Is it worth spending the extra cash on the cheap Acer brand (£79.99).

I am a bit loath to do this as the android operating system isn't as current as the carphone warehouses one plus that would cost me an extra £60 in total.
What are the thoughts of all you knowledgeable sorts out there.
Thanks as always
Wayne

I have one of the amazon ones shown and at best it's ok. Internet and basic features are ok but battery life is poor and has frozen up a few times too.

Not seen one yet, but Tesco are trying to muscle in with their Hudl model

Plus I think you could get it with the club card boost (formerly exchange). Double up your points. We do the Christmas saver and will have just over £40 of tokens which doubled up is £80 off. And if you consider £60 of club card points, each, then that could turn out to be a bit of a deal!!!

+1
Battery of mine gave up after 3 month so bought an exterior battery as it was impossible to find a proper (generic) one. I've been using the tablet 2yrs now anyway and still working fine.

Regarding the kids using them, we have some for the grandkids (different makes) and the common problem seems to be a poor charging socket. Two are dodgy and two others have been replaced.
