Title: Very clever
Post by: Nickbat on 27 September 2013, 15:08:32
Imagine you and SWMBO watching the same TV, but two different channels. ;)

You need glasses, though, and they each carry their own audio stream.

Bit like that episode of Steptoe and son, where they had an argument and split everything in half, including a dividing screen so they had half the tv screen each. The fun began when then they were each trying to follow an end-to-end football match.  ;D ;D ;D

Link no worky on iPhone  :(

Technology is so annoying, As soon as you've bought something there's something better available. Still I'm happy with the Samsing TV I've got for now should last a few years hopefully.

Remember seeing something on The Gadget Show or the News can't remember, Where the next big thing in TVs not HD but something so clear it's life like there's no need for 3D either. Could have been a dream I had can't remember maybe I was inducted by aliens that night  ;D

EDIT: Found this, Think their calls 4K TVs or something, Very expensive mind.

Two houses, two rooms, two tellies. And most importantly, two remotes...

Pointless getting one at that size, also nothing is currently broadcast in 4K.

I've seen a few broadcasts of 4K, it's real benefit is on nice big TV's

Technically speaking, 4K denotes a very specific display resolution of 4096 x 2160. This is the resolution of all 4K recordings, though many people use 4K to refer to any display resolution that has roughly 4000 horizontal pixels.

Ultra HD TVs have a resolution slightly lower than that - 3840 x 2160. That's exactly four times higher than the full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080...../

/.....Of course, perceived picture resolution is as much about viewing distance as resolution. What's the real difference between 720p and 1080p? The answer is about two metres. Increase the pixel density and you can sit closer without the pixel grid becoming obvious; a 2160p image - or Ultra HD - enables you to sit 1.6m from the screen.

Some engineers dispute that you can see a difference between 2K and 4K on any screen less than 100-inches; go larger and the subtle nuances that make up a 4K picture certainly become easier to appreciate.
