Decorated the bathroom recently.Painted the woodwork with gloss, then the walls with bathroom/kitchen waterproof emulsion. Ended up getting some of the paint intended for the walls on the new gloss paint and also on the vinyl tiles on the floor.
Anyone know the best method of getting it off ? Tried white spirit but that had no effect.Need a chemical presumably which will dissolve it from the gloss paint and vinyl tiles without dissolving them. :-\ ::)

Terberts' your man Albert to answer this :y

I think something like Acetone would do the job, although I wouldn't leave it on the floor for too long.

Switch, Carb, Brake Cleaner should do it, but test these on a bit of unseen Vinyl first :y
If not try a dab of petrol, but dont blow yourself up, I know you can be a bit accident prone. ;D

If the wall paint is water-based then white spirit or acetone will have no effect. If it's oil based, anything you use to remove it will also remove the gloss paint and make a mess of your tiles.
I, personally would just re-paint the gloss bits and try to carefully scrape it from the tiles.
Useless Paddy. ;D

Not quite sure what you mean by 'Waterproof Emulsion'
Do you mean 'Kitchen and Bathroom Paint'...which is normally an Acrylic eggshell format. Water based, normally, and if so, should come off alien surfaces using water and a bit of detergent, and gentle rubbing. Don't go at it like a bull in a china shop, though. :y
Hope this helps.
Usually, the bit on the tin telling you how to clean utensils is what you use :y

Cheers all - apart from the scouse git. :P Will try Terberts ideas first and then work back fom there. :y

if the paint is water based honestly no idea ;D just use car paste ;D :y

Assuming it has dried, washing up liquid, neat. Keep it on and keep it damp overnight (wet cloth over it)

Give it a rub with a scouring pad, not wire wool or anything harsh, one of those with the sponge. I've found them quite effective at sorting painting cockups!! ::)

Baby wipes apparantly :-\

Hope so.Have several hundred packets of them here. Its a long story. ;) ;D

I find meths fantastic at removing emulsion paint off other surfaces, not sure about bathroom emulsion but methylated spirit efficiently removes emulsion off lots of surfaces without damaging anything else.
