When I bought my present Omega it had tires that looked good, they are of the Nordexx Straus brand. My old Omega had Good Years that I kept but since the Nordexx had a lot of thread left I let them stay on.
Now after a year of driving they are totally dangerous in wet conditions, it's like a F1-car on slicks in rain. No traction at all!! The other day I left the highway on a tight turn exit, I was almost going off the road. It was like driving on ice, the car wanted to go straight ahead not turning at all. Luckily it was a wide exit and I had room to recover.
Yesterday it was 12°C and wet road, coming up to a line of cars at a redlight and during braking it started to skid and the ABS kicked in.
Tomorrow I will put on my winter tires instead and these junk tires from Nordexx is going in the trashcan.
The Nordexx tires are dangerously unsafe. Stay away from them!!

Thanks for the heads-up. I've just fitted Goodyears. :y :y :y

I'd never heard of them till now.

This is very common for most budget tyres after a couple of thousand miles, to be adequate in the dry, but lethal in the wet

My omega was always tail happy in the damp, even with good tyres.
