The car was on loan to a friend at the time. :o
Of course when I was told the car had caught fire I assumed power sounder but no...
As it was being parked up there was a burning smell then the drivers footwell erupted in flame!
Has anyone heard of this happening or have any ideas as to what could have caused it? As far as I'm aware the intention is to repair the wiring which shouldnt present any problems, but that would possibly be treating the symptom and not the cause.
Any pointers welcome!!!
EDIT:
As I posted this I got a text saying the damage was greater than first thought, so the car is being offered for parts.

As the main fuse box and numerous relays live down there it could be anything really, but certainly a major "short" by the sounds of things .. :(
Not good in any way TBH :(

Why so sure it wasn't the power sounder or its associated wiring :-\

Yeah Its going to be broken now.
As soon as the owner gets a price list together I will be posting it up.
I,m really curious as to what would have caused this though.
Usually the powersounder will ignite at the sounder itself, no?
