Hi
Recently I have bought a used siemens vdo cdr 500 player, it has replaced my philips casette player. The siemens is working fine, I can hear the radio and the cd is working properly, but there is just one issue. The cd track and the radio stations are not shown in the mid tid panel.
My omega is a firts series 96 model with big mid tid.
Is there any solution to this matter? or it is just the siemens is not compatible with the mid tid.
The mis shows blank in the upper part, it just showed some figures when I had to enter the code.
Thanks
Antonio

Early MIDs were 8 digit, later 10 digit.
CDR500 can be set to either with a key combination. I *think* its press and hold 2 and 4.

Mine is 8 digit mid tid. I have just tried pressing 2 and 4 and did not work. Might be another combination I guess

Try:
ign on
radio off
press and hold 2 and 4
radio on
After beep, release 2 and 4

Ok, will try later and let you know if I solved it.
This morning I went to my local Opel service, it is not the offcial one but the owner and some mechanics used to be in the official service and they know my car pretty well
The did not know about the 8-10 digit and could not fix the problem, ask me to leave the car there and see how to solve it but I need the car today so I couldn't leave it there
My radio came from a Zafira, I do not know if that helps.

The boy you were very near, 2-4 changes from American frecuency to European frecuency and 3-5 from 10 digits to 8
