Title: crank sensor??
Post by: djhorner on 20 October 2013, 20:45:50
could a faulty crank sensor stop car starting ?

Yes. The engine will turn over but not fire, easily confirmed with a pedal trick or paperclip test. Sometimes they don't show a 19 code, but normally will.

Replace with genuine only  :y

as Tunnie said code 19 may not show everytime..  generally it starts to cause problems when engine is hot.. be careful for the cable routing for the new one.

When my sensor was failing the car still started ok, though I guess there could be different symptoms. Strange that it was starting and running, albeit roughly, before hand.
Definitely codes first, before spending money. Still think there's a plug missing or something you have inadvertently moved when doing the leads.
