Hi guys,

Is this how to fit one of these.....

..... to my Omega's battery to get it through the MOT......

Yep, the original one just needs a single bolt in the centre of the battery. To fit that one, you'll need to hack some extra holes in the inner wing.

As said, what's up with the original? If it's missing, just get someone to send you one from a breaker. :y

I think you might need a hole in the bonnet too to clear the front tie bar  .......  ::) ::) ::) ::)

If the bolts snapped just drill it out put new bolt in , lost the bracket ..plenty at breakers or make one hillbilly style  :)

+1 or a large custom "bent" washer if no bracket ;)

With the hell frauds one you may laugh but I could run a die down it if needed extra threads and hacksaw the tops off if they're too long  :)

... In answer too the question re what's up with it...... Lost the plate  ::) and the bolt is stuck in. Il see if mole grips wil get it out  :y

Try a blast of plusgas  :y

I have the same problem. Still got the plate fortunately. The M8 bolt snapped. I plan to drill and tap it out. Should be easy enough to make a clamp plate with a piece of spare steel and a hacksaw?

Just done it... Turned the snapped stub of the screw clockwise from underneath... Out it came!  :y

Must be a common problem  my bolt snapped off so I drilled it out and used a nut and bolt

Its common due to some not using a wipe of grease on them (including the Krouts in the factory)

My Astra G was the same, though the battery tray on those is plastic.
