Title: Political topic
Post by: Terbs on 24 October 2013, 12:16:13
Had to post this....
Its an extract from a petition now running about pay rises. I felt infuriated after others like ozzycat and others on here are suffering..

Quote :- 'Within weeks David Cameron will be making a decision on the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority recommendation for a 11% pay rise on MPs' salaries.

Initially the pay rise was meant to come with the scrapping of expenses (they use our taxes to pay for their daily meals, travel, expenses for second homes and duck ponds etc) but now they are demanding the pay rise whilst keeping their expenses intact. All the while they are cutting benefits for vulnerable families, freezing salaries '........end quote

I have obviously signed :y

Their pensions aren't bad either.
But what do you expect? These twa** preach to the world about morals and ethics while lining their pockets like the leaders of a banana republic. They should be shot in front of their families.

Oh, but it's all out of their hands now. I mean, I'm sure they'd take a pay cut if they were allowed, but this "Independent" Parliamentary Standards Authority has forced their hand. ::)

The STRB (School teachers review body) say what teachers should get, totally independent, totally ignored by government.

They have limited public sector pay rises to 1% in most cases. They are effectively public sector employees and should also get 1%
Anything more and they are proved to be shameless hypocrites who don't deserve an X na ballot paper from anyone.
Similarily, their pension arrangements are just ridiculous. They know that at some point they are going to have to tackle the public sector pension nightmare. They should lead by example and scrap their own pension system and replace it with individual pension plans like the rest of us in the real world.
Come back Guy Fawkes. All is forgiven.

Remember Cameron's "victory" over the frozen EU budget a few months back?

I notice this is has passed by under the radar today:

Vote on 2.7 bn budget increase. 428 in favour, 44 against, 76 abstain.
UKIP against, Tories abstain, Lab and Lib in favour

Grrrrrr!  >:( >:( >:(
