Hi all,
The water pump was dying and now is dead.
Luckily the new pump with metal vanes arrived today and JamesV6CDX is booked to come to mine to swap out the pump for the new one.
Just looking at Shackend's guide on the change which we will be carefully studying, are there any points that we can ignore as we are not changing the belt, just the water pump?

Also mine is an auto, hopefully that won't make a difference?
Are there any extra tips anyone can give us? I have a spanner that should deal with the fan and a 10mm allen key so toolwise we should be fine.
Thanks for all your help guys, really appreciate it :)

The guide was written as done to an Auto, I can't think why there should be any differences for a manual either. I think the guide is pretty comprehensive, but if you or James find anything to add while doing the job, please let me know. I am sure you will have no problems, as I recall it was a very straightforward job. :y

Viscous is a left hand thread
Do *NOT* compress the aux blet idler tensioner, it *WILL* break. Do *NOT* use a lever on this tensioner, this often breaks the cast ali tensioner arm.
Othr than that, all straightforward.

Hi guys,
Thanks very much.
I will mention these to James later and let you know how it goes.
Hopefully there won't be any emergency questions on the forum as we go.
Thanks
Alex
