How long can you expect food to be ok in a freezer with loss of electric supply to it, hasn't been opened
-
Does it have a temp gauage on it?
During the fire, mine went up to -11C, and I was told that should be OK
-
10 hours?
Do not open the lid to check
Do put extra insulation over it until the electric comes back on.
Ice cream might be first to melt. Prawns next. So prawns and ice cream for supper. :o
When it comes back on put it on super chill mode.

If its full of stuff roughly 48 hrs, if only 1/2 full 24 hours, keep the door closed & don't keep opening it to look :y
-
Dependent of the contents ice cream is the first to be binned. bare in mind though if high risk food like raw meat etc does not get above 4c it can be cooked and re frozen. Trust me I am a chef

thanks for replies , no temp gauge, electric back on in evening hadn't opened freezer so hopefully food is ok ,mainly boxed stuff ,nothing fancy!

Ours was off for about 12 hours yesterday and warmed from -18 to -13. :y

Ours went off when the plaster removed a fused switch, I fixed it when I replaced the live feed that had pulled out, but not until I had checked all fuses, trips more than once.......... ::) ;) ;)
