Having 4 new tyres fitted last June at considerable expense, after 3 months I got a nail in the outer edge of offside rear and had to have it replaced. A couple of weeks ago I had to have both front tyres replaced due to uneven wear (now sorted by WIM). Then on Tuesday I noticed the nearside rear was almost flat while out shopping. Luckily I had a foot pump in the car and got it pumped up but it had a slow puncture. Took it to my garage to get it fixed this morning only to be told that it was damaged beyond repair as I had obviously driven a couple of miles with it nearly flat although I hadn't noticed anything drastic as I was only poodling around town. As it's a fairly uncommon tyre size (265/40/R17) they couldn't get me a replacement until next week, but I contacted WIM who managed to get one ordered for tomorrow. So, another 110 quid for yet another tyre plus petrol costs of getting over to WIM in Chesham and in the meantime I'm having to drive around with the emergency steel wheel at a max speed of 50mph and looks bl00dy awful! :'( :'( :'(
Best I don't bother doing the lottery this weekend!! ::)

Just sell the car to me ;)

havent had a car tyre puncture for many years,for some reason though i get rear tyre punctures on my bike like you would not believe.3 new tyres in just over a year.one of which had only done 30 miles.the current one picked up a woodscrew after 220 miles so i broke the habit of a lifetime and had it repaired. :(

Sorry to hear you are not having much luck bob :( still... very sexy wheels 8-)
I have had very few problems with the tyres on my Meega (apart fron it trying to eat the inside edge)... until tonight, I look out the window and the n/s/r is as flat as a pancake - not cool considering I have a 180 mile drive ooop north tomora, hope it can be repaired pronto!

After my puncture on Sunday I managed to get into the tyre place I use yesterday for a new pair. The guy, who is a friend of the family (but doesn't do huge discounts unfortunately :( :() suggested I try Accelera Alpha's, because I'm feeling a little skint for a couple of weeks :-[ :-[ :(. I've never heard of them but he says they are reasonable. The compound is a little hard for my liking but they seem to be ok so far. They are rotational, have rim protection and, driving home afterwards, seem to be quite good. Even when the heavens opened they were holding on!!! I did manage to get the ABS to interfere when I did an emergency stop on a very wet road, but other than that they were very good. ::) ::)
I'll keep an eye on them and report back! I'll probably have a pair on the rear in a couple of months time too so I'll be able to give them a good test!
Oh, and the cost... £104 all in... Admittedly, I did get a slight discount!! ;D ;D ::) :y :y
