Title: Saab 9-3 1.9TiD starting issue...

...when parked on a slope. Turns over, cranks fine. Takes several attempts then fires eventually. Filter changed recently.

Any ideas?

If it's parked facing uphill, then as said you may have air leaking into the fuel pipes and all the diesel's run back to the tank.  ::)

Can you see air bubbles in the fuel pipes?  ???

Park it facing downhill!  ;)

Starter motor not turning fast enough - documented on a lot of SAAB forums.
