Post by: bago on 04 November 2013, 17:53:35
well just got back from cinema after watching enders game, I know they say not many people go now but me and the mrs felt like it was our only private showing as it was just us watching it. so  sat in the VIP seats as Vue call them.

Can't beat the cinema for a new flick or a nice movie out with the mrs etc  :D

I usually book the premier seats at showcase with food etc, it's like having the cinema all to yourself lol,  ;)  :D

Went and saw One Chance last week with SWMBO (James Corden stars) - what a great film - chick flick(ish) but something for everyone  :y :y. Only about 12 people in the screen too.

Went last night, actually. Pretty deserted at the Vue in Basingrad too.

Was an expensive couple of hours' kip, if I'm honest. ::)

Just booked to see the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary film at the local Showcase - it's in 3D, and I don't have a 3D telly.
12 quid a ticket, so £60!

If me and MrsEgg go (date night  :-* ), it usually costs us the best part of 80 quid - by the time we've bought nachos and popcorn, and pop, and Nandos afterwards  ::)

We discovered it's actually cheaper to drive to Bridlington (75 miles away), go to the cinema there (5 quid each! + popcorn @£2 a bucket), get a B&B, then wetherspoons for the "two steak meals +bottle of wine for £15" (tuesdays) and have an overnighter instead

Cinema ?

Rant time . . . . .  ::)

Why I/We very very rarely go to the cinema, and even then it mainly serves as a reminder not to do it for another few years

Expensive
Other people loudly munching popcorn or whatever
Other people slurping drinks
Other people yacking
Other tall people sitting in front of you
Other people making smartass comments to their friends
Other people turning up late and having to squeeze in front of you

Actually . . . . . . All the other people in the cinema . . including the staff

Last visit to Cinema was for Coriolanus. Not too bad actually as it had been showing for some time and most local morons thought it was about rectal surgery. But I still prefer to wait and buy the DVD to watch at home, then I've only got SWMBO to moan about  ::)
