Title: Thoughts on this car for sale on fleaBay?
Post by: aaronjb on 08 November 2013, 09:06:02
If this stays cheap (which I assume it won't, magpies will be drawn by the promise of a remapped engine) then it's just down the road from me and I'm pondering picking it up as a cheap runaround while I fix the M3 and Omega (one now having been rendered immobile by the SMG pump and the other smells like it's about to catch fire amongst other things  :-[ ) : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291010799168

No mention of the mileage (unless I'm going blind) but looks straight enough..

Just pondering, is it possible to retro-fit the Xenon lights of an Elite to a GLS? Levelling sensor, washers, level motor & lights - is the loom already there or is it missing, anyone know?

That's a strange listing, it's so big that I only see about a half of it on the screen and its so long that it's a PITA to scroll down to shift it across to read the rest....  :-\  Is it me? or are others getting that too?  ::)

I couldn't be bothered to faff about to read it, so it might stay cheap as others might feel the same....  :-\

Ditto, but if you hold the CTRL button on the keyboard and press the minus key, the page shrinks and the main ad becomes readable :y

HID,s are an easy retrofit,as are headlamp washers (done both to my CD). The levelling has never been retrofitted by anyone though to my knowledge. :y

Just bid on it. The antique dealer bought it to take Chippendale furniture to mr opti, but found it wasn't large enough to put that amount of furniture in,so now needs a 7.5 tonner :D

Oh and Tigger - not just you.. they've posted the biggest un-resized photos they could find, rendering it impossible to read without shrinking ;D Silly people..

Albs - good to know.. although I thought without the headlight levelling it falls foul of C&U regs? Not that an MOT station is likely to notice..

If its fitted, it has to work, same as the washers, if its not fitted then they cant fail it.  ;)

Correct - according to my MOT man. :y.............Imo it would be daft to fit the lights and not the washers. Some say the same about having HID,s without levelling, but I keep them properly adjusted and never had a problem with dazzling anyone.  ;)

IME when people badly describe things, have poor photographs they go for much less than the well described and presented. I have picked up some good bargains this way.  :y :y :y

At the right price, it looks like with a bit of TLC you would have a cracking car.  :y :y :y
