Title: Halfords wisdom
Post by: omegod on 12 November 2013, 15:22:00
Popped in for a new battery for the works Chevy today and obviously wanted the cheapest one " you are aware that that battery is just for motorway driving aren't you" Erm Sorry what?  "yes it is purposely designed to have less power than a normal battery"

Apparently the staff are trained to inform customers choosing the cheapest battery this.........I bet they are ::)

After all that they gave me the wrong bloody battery as the terminals are the wrong way round  ;D

Yes - you have to check what they say carefully - for my son's Merc their recommended battery just did not fit in the aperture!! We had to match the power rating to their other stock to select something that did fit  - seems ok though and got us out of a hole on a wet Sunday morning.

It is worrying, I sat whilst er-indoors car was MOT'd yesterday listening to a parts assistant talking to a customer about the Vx Adam, he told this poor mug that its the front floor pan off the Astra and the rear off the Corsa....(Its a short wheel base Corsa D platform as per Fiats etc etc etc)

It beggers belief, I sat there looking at him shaking my head and looking disgusted at which point he scurried into the back not to be seen again.

I nearly butted in to make him look a bloody idiot but he was s potty runt who clearly hadn't seen a barbers in a while and I could not be arsed,...

.....

Does any manufacturer design & build a platform just for their own use? Or put another way, what cars share major components with others ie Toyota Iygo / Citreon C1 / Peugeot 107 oe Fiat 500 / Ford Ka  :-\

2007- Sevel LAV
2008- Alfa Romeo MiTo
2012- Opel Adam

Small wide:
2012- Fiat 500L
2014- Fiat 500X

Small LWB:

So....you still bought it? Even after being warned? Some people just ask for trouble.

Please tell me that those don't all have that utterly faultless EPS system found on the Corsa D  ::)
