While investigating poor LPG running, (poor coolant flow) I noticed that my main fan was running all the time, put this down to the fact that its side of rad was hot, lpg side was cold. This usually means giving the heater matrix a flush. While running to check all I heard what sounds like another fan kick in from under f/r/h arch area. Have seen something on here I am sure, but a search turned info on ceiling fans, probably my choice of words. So what did I hear.

f/r/h arch area
Sure it wasn`t nearside front arch Bob?

could have been but it was such a shock as not expecting it, 2.0L btw

I have recently had probs with my LPG with it unusually switching off and on. Discovered that the regulator water supply was hot on the input but only warm on the output.
Initially thought it was the thermostat (as it's fed on the pipe that comes out the top of the therm housing to the reservoir) but as I was getting no thermostat not working symptoms, thought it might be the reservoir as I recently put in a new one.
Turned out the metal insert inside the reservoir connection had become blocked by small rust particles, it has a small bore
Might be worth a look

or its gas remp sensor on lpg-it fits in gas line before injectors--mine f***** up and made my fans come on and engine temp was higher than normall-soon as I replaced gas temp sensor--all good :y :y
-
Symes prob with mine was a temp drop not hotter :), have had this before and found a heater matrix flush seems to cure it, guess it is something to do with a 100% water flow.
Good replies but still no the wiser about the fan noise.
Sir P reservoir take it you mean the coolant reservoir

How can a gas temp sensor (that only the LPG ecu can read) have any bearing on engine temp and rad fan operation?
-
Hi James she's poorly on LPG as you can see, about same as when you did heater flush

because sensor tell how much gas to inject--goes lean=heat ----as explained by zavoli technician :y :y so lpg can cause issues too

and the other fan noise is???

If its going so lean that its causing enough heat for the cooling system to work overtime, I would be seriously worried! :y

thats why i took it too some one who knows what they are doing with lpg :y :y-spent all weekend learning my system and got cd/lead to do checks in future-if required :y all i did in return was rebuild his chev v8

tonight it has cut out 4 times on main road running on petrol, eml on but its to dark to cold to late and dressed up to do the paper clip.
really getting pi*** of now :'(
-
does it cut out on idle?-if so its your idle control valve mate-needs a clean
-
nope know the idle valve etc are ok only recently done along with throttle body, until I do readings not sure, but wonder if I could have dislodged something wrestling to try and get top heater matrix hose off today. First time it has ever done this on petrol
-
Have you checked the vac pipes ?? a vac leak "might" cause the problem ?? they are very easy to dislodge and there are a few of them around that area .... :-\ :-\ :-\
-
not tonight was all dolled up in suit so its tomorrows task
-
codes this morning 335 and 340, camshaft sensor? eml is out but bet it will come on later
