Title: Excellent service by WIM again
Post by: tunnie on 23 November 2013, 09:02:21
Decided to call by WIM on my way back to Brackley yesterday, as the front drivers tyre on the 3.2, has been loosing pressure. Was getting worse, 2 weeks after putting it to 32 Psi it was down to 22 PSi  :o

I did wonder if it was corrosion on the inner alloy, as they were not in great condition. When I had them fitted (around a year or so ago), I was forced to use a local place, and they did a crap job. Few hours later one of them was flat  ::)

Anywho within few mins (no booking) my 3.2 was in and the wheel was off, inspecting it for leaks as they do.

Turns out it was the valve leaking, not the top brass part, but at the base of it.

WIM replaced this and all was well, popped into the office with my wallet ready, only to be told. No don't worry about it, it's only a valve.

Drove back with one fixed tyre  :D

Top service  :y

Corrosion in the valve seat? :-\

Good job, not many places would remove a wheel and tyre for free.

Possible  :-\

Orginal tyre place may not have changed the valve, or maybe a bad batch  :-\
