Title: Fitting an LPG tank in the spare wheel well on a sedan Omega (trunk left side)

Hi guys,

I want to install an LPG system in a 2002 Omega sedan.
Since I want to save my storage space as much as possible, I am wondering whether it's a good idea to install a toroidal
(donut) tank in the spare wheel well. In general this would be a straight yes, if only this compartment was below the trunk.
However, it is positioned on the left side of the trunk in the sedan!

This basically means that I'd be constantly travelling with over 70 kilos (correct me here) of unbalanced weight that will be on
the left side of the car. Same as the driver - left side. Wouldn't the two weights constitute a substantial disbalance, which
may affect driving, as well as wear of tires, suspension etc?

Well well, my old car.

Upright tanks exist, but are only single hole, last I looked. This means all the 4 hole gubbins has to go into one valve. They aren't quite as reliable as the 4 holes and trip back to gas if wanging the car about on the odd occassion.

Couple that with the lack of range,tbh, I wouldn't fit another.

But regarding weight distribution, :-\ can't see itaking much odds. No more than a driver on his own. There's no allowance that I'm aware of for a single occupant in any of the spring lengths left or right or set up. So I wouldn't worry.

But if you do get an uneven ride height it's easy enough to raise the ride height in that corner by placing another rubber pad under a rear spring.

There's a tolerance of 10mm all round anyway (+/- 5mm)

I guess measure before and after by adding the relevant weight in that corner..?

You're giving some nice thoughts. Too bad that they've decided to place the spare tire on the left of the trunk instead of on the bottom in this car!... I wonder in what way the space under the floor is used, there's got to be something there... Since you could fit a whole tire otherwise....

One fairly large fuel tank for starters !!
