Title: We are all saved, Autumn Statement
Post by: Varche on 05 December 2013, 15:09:12
A lot in there to digest.

Pity anyone starting work now and working till they are 68 , 69 , 70, 75, .... before getting their state pension.

Anyone aged 18 to 21 claiming benefits without basic English or Maths will be required to undertake training from day one or lose their entitlement. People unemployed for more than six months to be forced to start a traineeship, take work experience or do a community work placement or lose benefits.

Agree with most of what he has done. There is much more they need to do but it is a step in the right direction.  :y

For anyone concerned or wanting more info on their state pension, here is the official link to the online calculator. You will need to know when you started working

2018 for me, just squeezed into the 65 pension age. 36 years of contributions gets me a full pension and a second state pension. That will change in 2014 though, to a flat rate of about £140.

Not too sure as to whether you will lose benefit of 2nd pension given your age. I would expect transitional arrangement.

There will be no 2nd pension after 2014, but you need 35 years contributions to get the full pension. Less years = less pension....down to a minimum of course.

Hmm...and what about the extra £11billion to be paid to EU institutions. Bet they were hoping no-one would notice that small detail today. >:( >:(

Andrew Neil on The Daily Politics did, apparently! :y

The changing of 3 years after a house stops being your main residence to 18 months is going to change my plans a bit. From what I can see where they expect to raise £300m+ in the first year former long term residence and about £130m from foreign owners  the tax is mainly targeted at what are called "accidental renters" as in many cases it is where people are posted abroad by companies they work for.  :(

So it looks like they don't want to stop people from abroad buying here and want to penalise people that leave.  :(

Makes no difference, once your reach the max needed.
