On the BBC news tonight Romanian MP's have voted to grant themselves immunity from prosecution of corruption charges!!! :o :o :o
It hasn't been signed into law yet, but it'll be interesting to see what the EU's response will be, as although I'm no legal eagle this must contravene provisions of EU treaties and laws! :-\
It dosn't appear that the media have really got hold of this yet as this was the only article on the web I could find. :-\

Normal in many countries to have immunity from prosecution when an MP. Why should it matter as we all know they are as honest as the day is long. :o :o :o :o It applies in the Ukraine, used to in Italy until recently.Very attractive route for immunity from prosecution from people running a 'family business' which is why it is popular for many crimes bosses, so a parliament becomes a who's, who of organised crime. :( :( :( :(
