I don't know if it is a Vectra A, B C or D but what is the general opinion of the Vauxhall Vectra 1.9 CDTi, one seen is an 08? I love my Jeep but with the work I do the fuel is hurting, even though I get an allowance, so just looking......... ;) ;)

I wouldn't have another 1.9... The first one was that rubbish :-\
Other people really rate them though :-\
On the whole, not a bad car :y no Omega, but not as bad as Clarkson would have you believe imho :y

Depends what flavour?
120 or 150bhp?
Think its the 150 is more troublesome with swirl flaps, DPF's, EGR valves general disesal crappiness.
Both can be mapped easily.
As for a daily, they are ok, nothing really that different to anyother 'rep mobile' I've had my 3.2V6 Signum (built on estate chassis) for 4 1/2 years and taken it from 80 to 150k, but almost straight away swapped the springs to Eibachs (and B8's :)) which made a massive difference to handling when pressing on, if it wasn't for a lorry making it a CAT C total loss I would still be driving it today.
In fact due to limited options this week I bought a 2.8 V6 turbo facelifted version ;)

A very different engine to the desmond...
Have you changed the fuel pump, and can you prove it has only ever had decent fuel put in it since the pump was changed :-\

No idea on the fuel pump tbh. I use the esso or shell garage local to me and the car is fine. Passed its MOT 2 months ago and the emissions were spot on. Only selling as I've got a mig again.
Whats the issue with the fuel pump then? ???
-
Th diaphram in the pump goes porous, potentially resulting in a knackered pump. Supermarket fuels seem to make the problem worse... Also, the pump is a high pressure engine driven one, so not as straightforward as buying one from a factors for £50 and half an hour digging in the boot like an Omega :'(
