Title: Oil leak?
Post by: cfclol on 13 December 2013, 13:23:32
Hi Folks
I have a 2.2 cd auto estate on an x done 80k miles had a full service, cambelt and water pump 1k miles ago and is performing excellently. However I have recently noticed a few oil spots on the driveway (don't tell the mrs!) and wondered what it might be (I am not a mechanic or that way inclined unfortunately). The oil level is fine on the dipstick and hasn't needed topping up so the leak is obviously minimal just wondering what I should do about it - aprart from cleaning the drive :-)
Many thanks
Iain

Hi mate. I would stick my head under (with it on jack stands obviously) and try and find the oil....ascertain if its gearbox or engine oil first:)

Yes just got a mechanic who lives a few doors down to take a look - rocker cover gasket apparently - a lot of oil where it shouldn't be (that was the gist of it)
