Title: A productive morning on project no fear!
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 02 June 2008, 01:38:03
I did a few jobbies this morning on the project 2.0 no fear Estate:

1) Sorted out camcover gasket, sealed with correct black sealant. Drained plug wells and cleaned everything out, incl HT leads.

2) Finally got the EML to go out. Changed the lambda sensor. Had a right bargain, got a titania one from a 2.0 Omega from the scrap yard while passing - £1 :D

3) Sorted out the fast idle. There were 2 issues, one was a stripped thread on the ICV to throttle body join, so it was letting in air. The other was someone had wedged the TBody open a bit probably to cure an idle/stalling problem. So - I re-threaded the damaged hole and re-fitted the ICV, and sorted out the Tbody, and she now idles perfectly.

4) ATF - I did the ATF today, made a nice mess but the gearchange feels good now¬

5) Tunage - I fitted a Sony Head Unit (Sorry Jaime) - because I lost the code to the CDC... sounds lovely but I need to sort out the memory wire!

6) I did plan on a few other jobs such as clean up the headlights, steam clean the interior etc.. but it started raining, so I thought I'd take it for a spin back to Maria's instead :y :y

A sign of someone who knows what they are doing James is not just being able to put things right, but being able to diagnose the problem in the first place.

You certainly have picked up a lot in a relatively short time. Well done :y

Normally you just swap the yellow and red wire around as Vx have these two the opposite to everyone else ::)

Is it off? What's the score, what have I missed?? What are the internals like, and why wouldn't it start?

No 2 has bugger all compression though. No 1 in the green, but lower than 3 and 4.
