Title: BBC breakfast
Post by: MR MISTER on 20 December 2013, 07:47:00
Pressing matters on this morning. Should we tip the binmen/postman at Christmas? Don't forget the window cleaner. Astonishingly, only 52% of us now do this. Wow!
Let's ask an etiquette expert, a shrivelled old prune who bears as much relevance to most of us as the man in the moon. "Well......it depends........"
AAARRRRGGGGHHHH     F  U  C  K   OFF!!!!!!!!!

Who do they think they are broadcasting to?

Where's my pills........…gasp....

R-E-L-A-X

Try meditation and discover your inner self. Be at peace with yourself and symbiotic with the world

THEN - take the pills ( not blue ones by any chance are they ?)

AND YES - We do give Christmas tips to postman, binmen etc. Where we live they do a really good job  :y

Anyway, off again this weekend for another look a a house for our Great Escape. Almost at the point of no return.

If I'm really lucky I get to keep the change... usually a whole ten or twenty pence ;D

No wonder everyone in Horsham is so wealthy...

We can't run to a window cleaner........we're not made of money. :'( :'( :'(

As for the binmen........when they decide to leave the bin 'right way up' I'll give them a tip. ;D :P

Postmen/postgirl we tip £10-£20.

When I were a lad, postmen, binmen, et al got a tip at Xmas. But they used to be the same faces all year round, now you never know who is calling. The postman would be cheery and helpful, the bin men actually had to walk (heaven forbid!) to the back of most houses to get your bin, they emptied it and TOOK IT BACK. The window cleaner would turn up when he said he would, and KEEP on coming. They all got paid a wage, but it was Xmas time (if that makes a difference?) and people would show their gratitude for the little extras given through the year... Merry Christmas.... or, Happy Holiday, if that suits you better?  :y

I never tip postie or bin men as we've always got different ones round here and I'd be foolish if I'm getting out of my bed a 6:30 on a Monday to tip bin men :)

Spoke to the postie who delivers mail to my work and we got on subject of tips and he said normally he gets between £200-£300 from customers. But one postie he knows delivers to a very well respected village, he get around £900 in tips :o :o

Said to postie I'm in wrong job and he's doing wrong round :y

I have a tip for them,

How about taking all the recycling. I know its not in a box coloured in the exact shade or shape that was originally distributed but even Stevie Wonder could work out what it is. Tossers.

Must be a very expensive time for M'lud where you have to provide Christmas boxes for the butler, chauffeur, chamber maids and presents for their offspring  :-X, servants, kitchen staff, gardeners, your vast estate's farm workers etc, etc. So it is a good Christmas gesture to give a £20 Christmas bonus to a possible new chamber maid your postwoman.  ;) ;)

I tend to round up, so it depends on how much, to decide if it is pence or pounds, and tobe honest also depends on what cash I have in my pocket..... :D :D

I always tip our bin men.....when they come round I say ''oi, come here, I've got a tip for you... place my recycling bins on the ground where I put them instead of launching them on our lawn upside down''.

We tip for the good service we get. For example, postie will hold our post until we come back when we go away. The bin-men are tidy and always put bins back neatly, and we get good service from our paper boy, so yes, we tip them all. :y

I recently started getting a paper delivered by a nice young local lad, he popped a nice card through the door and received about £9 as a tip. Fair play he's round come rain or shine. Bin men can bugger off though!!!
