I've got a 2.6L Vauxhall Omega and I've been driving it for some time with the exhaust emission light on without any problems.....but I was parked up at a shop today, started the engine and as I went to pull away and it felt like it was going to drag as if it was in limp mode....and I noticed the spanner light had come on but the emission light had gone off.
I restarted the engine again....and have done a couple of small trips since and the spanner light is still showing but the emission light is still off.
I'm sensing this could just be another dodgy circuit problem.....but I've got a 30 mile trip tonight with the kids and don't fancy breaking down on the M1.
Do you think it will be ok....and do you agree that its just an iffy circuit...?

do the pedal trick and read the fault codes
-
See maintenence guides section for code reading, specifically how to do a "Pedal Trick" test on it
-
Never done the pedal trick....and the problem is we have to leave in abut 45 minutes.....and I'm washed and ready to go...!
Do you think it would be safe to drive tonight and try the test tomorrow.....assuming it starts and pulls away ok.

Need to read the fault codes, could be a blocked exhaust.

I was trying to avoid having to take it to Vauxhall just for them to charge me £50 to put it on a meter and then tell me its an 'unidentified fault' like they did with my last one. There were two codes on then....and the other was the code for a faulty cruise control.....when there wasn't even ac cruise control on the car....!
Can anyone let me know what the 'pedal trick' is....?
