And no need yet for a Winter Tyre, so why do some propose fitting on 1st October? Discuss.......

You could, as a public safety 'just in case' legistlation, in the same way that I have to carry a fire extinguisher and first aid kit in my car even though I legally cannot use either ::)

My colleague does a daily commute of 110 miles on b roads and says there has been black ice in the mornings plus they show benefits when it goes under 7 degrees (which it has been when he is driving.

Winter tyres are a must at this time of year, they help your car float in floods, or so I've heard. ::) :P :P :P ;D ;D ;D ;D

I think winter tyres are made of lighter rubber so they grip the water better! :-\ ;)
