Car pass separate to service book, you need that, to code it. That will also have the mechanical code to cut a key.

Get a blank fob off eBay, but get the remote bit from a Vauxhall dealer. Then need a nice admin or decent dealer to code it all up  :y

Timpsons sold me a key and coded it for £114. Didn't need a car pass, he obtained the pin from the car.
Mine's  not an omega, I know, but he said most cars are not a problem.

An a/c 'expert' local to me came to re-gas my car for me. While chatting it became apparent that he had a proper TechII and at the time I had a problem with a key fob but had mis-laid the Car Pass. No problem said he & produced a code generator .... needless to say it wouldn't work  :(. After a phone call to a more expert  ;)expert, it seems that he could only generate a key code from later cars.

Thanks for the advice and links.

After checking with boozer, the Chinese and retracing my steps several times, i struck lucky.

Playing ball with the cat (she is a cat , not a dog honest) on retrieving the ball from the back of the sideboard i found my keys down there too.
