Tried it once. Found it to be the most tedious pastime imaginable tbh. Wife used to be very keen. Still has a Fisher(iirc) something or other which cost around a grand 10 years ago,and another fairly expensive machine on top of the wardrobe.
Fil had about 15 of the things at last count. All top of the range but apparently quite different from one another.

Doesn't appeal to me at the moment, but always on the lookout for things to do on my walks, to give a reason to go for a walk, if that makes sense.

I like walking, its nice fresh air, and is one of the few times (along with sat on the potty) that I can clear my mind of things, and relieve the stresses of life.

I've tried golf and geocaching. Not sure metal detecting is on the list of things to try though...

I've got one. We bought it some time ago to find a lost ring in the garden. It worked really well as it was in the soil.

Got it here in Spain but haven't had the bottle to use it as you can't really. Shame as we live near a couple of main Roman roads that are nothing more than dirt tracks now. One day......... Quite fancy finding the Iberian Hoard

Im thinking of trading in HollyDog for HollyDog2 next year.....a brand new model  :y

You can have HollyDog, TB, for trade in price.....advantages....she doesnt need much exercise these days.....12 next month.... disadvantages.....she might become like STEMO in the next couple of years and start shitting the bed....  ;D
