how the break do you stop blisters on ya feet an if ya do get em wots the best way to get rid of?? i`m in some righty pain tonite with em... :(
-
The best way to stop blisters is to wear two pairs of socks. This way, the socks rub against each other instead of your feet against the sock.
Once you've got them try some moisturising cream on your feet, this should soften the blister and make it disappear quicker. It's still going to hurt though. :)

Wear high quality wool socks NOT anything with nylon it it, a thin pair against the feet with a thick "walking boot" type pair on top, and shoes/boots that fit properly and have been broken in.
If you know you are going to do a lot of walking in the future, rub a little Methylated Spirits into your skin twice a day for 3 weeks before hand, it toughens the skin.
Once you have blisters, if they have NOT burst - do NOT "pop" them - keep the foot clean and DRY and, if you have to walk on it, put a dry dressing over the blister. Try and leave it uncovered for at least 3 hours a day.
If the blister has burst, cleanliness is the most important factor, other than that do NOT cut away the old skin, it acts as a protector, treat like any wound, clean, dry and protected. .. watch for infection.
Again, if you can leave it "exposed" it will dry/heal faster.

"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure". You've got an Omega - don't walk anywhere :)

If the blisters on your feet are not due to friction (tight boots, long walks, etc, as mentioned above) then you may have some sort of infection (viral, fungal, bacterial), or even a reaction to a substance used in the construction of your shoes.
If that's the case and the condition persists, see your doctor.

Prevention:
-Good quality socks
-Well fitting shoes
-Clipping nails properly
-Tape up the areas you get blisters with zinc oxide tape. Not one peice usually have to layer up in strips around the heel and ball areas of the foot. I hiked 44 miles in 24 hours in Brecon with such a setup and it was the chaffing between my legs that caused me pain, not my feet. :y
Look here: http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/cybertherapist/front/foot/blisters/taping.php
Treatment:
-Dont not pop them deliberately (unless you know what you are doing. You can cause an infection.
-Apply savlon to the area around a blister several times a day just in case it bursts, less chance of infection.
-If it has burst then get a piece of wood for between you teeth and put a drop of iodine on the exposed skin. Best to do it at night that way by morning a callous will have formed and you can carry on as if there was nothing. I used to use neat iodine but I thin that is not necessary, 50/50 should work fine. Only a couple of drops, enough to cover the eposed skin, is required.
Now chog on grunt! :y

Walk on your hands!
Problem solved :y

If re-occarant then wipe feet with white spirt once a day. This will make the skin more dense and prevent. this will not harm your feet.
To treat. irrigate if broken/red with a weak saline soultion. dry thoroughtly and apply compeed. which is a skin replication cover. It should be left in place untill it falls off, which is 3-5 days. At which point the skin is all but healed.
